About a week ago Rachel over at "Once Upon A Miracle" posted a "True Story Tuesday" post about "Glamour Shots", oh yes you remember the place....Right?! I mean everyone went there didn't they? Or was that just me...and Rachel of course... Well in case you don't know Glamour Shots was a place you went and got those GLAMOROUS pictures taken.... *I'll just put this in Rachel's words* "The ones that make 14-year olds look like 21-year olds, and 65-year olds look like… well… like some really mature kids trying on makeup for the first time". BAHAHAHA LOL!!! SO True!
So Rach and I had a little discussion about this and vowed if she would I would...Post those pictures...Oh yeah, she did it! Here is Rachel's Link to "The Glamour Shot Promise", or you can click on the Glamour Shot button on my side bar! Thanks Shana!
So just how did my Glamour Shots session come about? Well a dear friend of mine had them done and then purchased a gift certificate for me to do some as well! So that I did after Christmas in 1993, I was all of 15 years old! So here they are without further ado!!
OH and I should mention that my Hubby carried these 2 pictures of me in his wallet until they were almost unrecognizable LOL!!
Yep that's me in all my GLAMOUR glory!!!! Now come on if you have some of these shots link up and share them with us!!
Oh my goodness girl - you are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd they were far more merciful with your hair than they were with mine (or did you just not let them touch your hair after you did it? :)
What was with all the shiny fabrics in the 90's? hee hee!
You definitely don't look 15 years old!
Just as beautiful as ever girl!
Thanks for linking up and not letting me sit there like a lonely dweeb, ha ha!
Oh, I am so envious. I always wanted to do the Glamour Shots. They were the bomb. Big Hair, Shiny Clothes, Intense poses.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous daaa-ling. ;)
Heehee, yours are really not that bad but you do not look 15 either. I made a button for this if you wanna grab it from my post where I linked up. Your hair was great though I have to agree.
ReplyDeleteRach~ I'm not exactly sure how I managed that one LOL!! I think they had buffonted my friends hair so I was on alert LOL!!! You are too kind!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI was totally giggling when I seen you had posted it so I was linking ASAP!!!
BEC~ I know, right?!! It was a ton of fun!! And thanks!!
Shana~ *giggles* thanks!!! Okay I will come grab it!!
ReplyDeleteOh I have them. But NOPE :-)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! I did Glamour Shots too!!! And I used them for my senior picture. How cool is that! All the guys wanted those! I'll have to see if I can find some to post. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm stopping in from Rachel's to see your photos. And honestly, I'm surprised that they didn't poof your hair! Your pictures are much more "normal" lookiing if GS's can be normal that is.
ReplyDeleteTooooo funny! My Mom did a Glamour Shot for my Daddy, and they put her in a sailor hat. Oh my gosh, I about die laughing every time I see it. CRACK ME UP. We still have Glamour Shots at our mall I think.
ReplyDeleteStopping by via Rach. I don't think your pics are that bad either. They made you look about 21, but I guess that's cool when you are only 15! ;)
ReplyDeleteyou look marvelous
ReplyDeleteI love the description of you and your life and choices on the side as well
Awww I like em!! Those were a little beyond my time (hahaha) but I take self-portraits whenever I have time to kill... My dad doesn't like me to wear much makeup so that is when I get to really "doll up" and go snap happy in the mirror lol!
ReplyDeleteOh I like them! I have done those too - I think they are kinda cool...
ReplyDeleteOHHH Fabulous!!! Your glamour shots are WAY better than mine! You know, the one's from my Second Shooter post? Haha! Well, I can proudly say I never had these taken, although I have plenty of school or sports photos that could contend!
ReplyDeleteHere via Rachel...your Glamour Shots look great. They made you a look older but I'm sure you thought that was great. I always wanted them but my mom said NO...LOL
ReplyDeleteHow fun! ;) i did the glamour shots when I ran for Fair Queen. I got to wear my hat so it wasn't too bad. That was like 6 years ago.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Remember the Breck Shampoo commercials with those gorgeous girls shaking their hair out and saying all sexy like 'and that's not greasy kid stuff'. Well me & my friends would always go to the little photo booths in the mall & try & imitate that...I always came out looking totally P'd-off! lol ahh ...now that I type this maybe that's why the hubby...um nevermind! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh - Yours is beautiful! I'll have to see if I can find my one and only shot - So many years ago. Think I had feathers around my neck. That was way before your girls time. I'll look for it, and post it when I find it, ha.
ReplyDeleteMy niece did the GS shots and they sure did have her looking older than 15 also.
ReplyDeleteYours are beautiful and I love the hair.
Thanks for sharing. How fun.
Goodness, you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou're gorgeous, but the extremeness of these shots nowadays makes me laugh!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy last boss had a glamour shot of his wife on his desk, and it was probably over 20 years old. You know what's really funny? He also had a glamour shot of his lowland sheep dog too. I kid you not, a face shot and his face was tilted just like the human female glamour shots! (He was a freak ... my boss, not the dog, LOL)
I went to Glitter Photography!
ReplyDeleteNot really! Hehe
ReplyDeletelol! lol! You look so much older than 15!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure you looked even prettier with a lot less make-up, too.
I have my Glam Shots somewhere. I have no idea where. It would be funny to have a look at them again, though.
Maybe I'll have to go look for 'em. hehe!
