In Full Swing

So today was the day...Day 1 of bull riding for J. The day started off with some basic lessons about their ropes, gloves, spurs, and proper mount and dismount. After the lessons where finished they were moved to the chutes where there was a steer in the chute and the instructor gave them the do's and don'ts about getting on the bull. Apparently he decided to use J as his demonstrator and I believe he was a bit nervous about that, Hubby says he kept gravitating to the back of the group and the instructor would bring him back up front LOL!! Well they took a break for lunch and to thaw off as well, as it was only 20 degrees where they were today. After lunch they rode a tame steer around the arena to get the feel of the movements. Then about mid afternoon I receive a message from Hubby that J is getting ready for his first ride...*eeep*...Hubby said the boys and men gathered in a circle for a prayer over the group which I thought was great!! But it amazed me how it hit me when I received that message I instantly teared up and got really scared. I immediately texted my loved ones and asked them for a prayer as I was saying one as well. I had know idea that I would react that way...I feel like maybe I was a little mislead about the situation because I was under the impression that they would only be riding a mechanical bull and maybe a smaller steer today?? I don't know what or why it changed but it did. Hubby called me after the ride, which I might say was a nerve wracking time for me. He said J rode a white Brahma Bull, and when they came out of the chute the bull took off running and then started bucking. He bucked a few times and then J went flying straight up into the air and then landed on his head....He immediately got up and ran for the fence and told Hubby that the bull had kicked him in the head and Hubby told him "no the bull didn't kick you in the head the dirt did!! Cause you landed head first on the ground", I don't think J was finding any humor at that point. I finally got to talk to him myself and asked him if he was scared and how did he feel while he was riding the bull?? He said he was really scared and it felt like he was watching someone else ride. I asked him if he is ready to do it again tomorrow and he said yes he is....

Today is also the start of "girls weekend" for me and DD. We love to do this every time the boys are gone!! So tonight we went to my SIL and worked on some business things and DD did some hand-sewing with her cousin. Tomorrow we have a big day planned. We will go to lunch at a new fantastic restaurant (so I hear it's great) then off to the mall, then we will be seeing 2 movies LOL!! So pretty busy time for us...

Is it ok to sell my kid??

So today was an average day of doing chores and waiting for the family to get home. Tried to work on the website again, still roadblocks...However at last check with my SIL she is making pretty good headway now!! Very exciting!!

My main thoughts for the day are thank God we live in a small community and it's OK to sell our kids!! How do you feel about paying oh say $100.00 for a kid, well that's how much I sold mine for!! OK not really selling them just auctioning them off for 8 hours of work to the highest bidder...J's FFA Chapter held their annual "FFA Work Auction" tonight. Every member of FFA participates in this and it is a great way for them to earn money for the trips and contests they go to. Plus it is a great community activity, alot of the local farmers old and young come out and get them some pretty cheap labor. Well that also depends on who's bidding and who's running the bids up LOL!! Oh and they also must feed the child at the lunch hour, it is a requirement. But what a great time for all to be had!! J had a great time and is really happy that the bank bought him, oh and he got to wear a shirt he was very proud of LOL!! White t-shirt with all of the Senior Officers hand prints :)

On a more serious note I am feeling a little bit of nervousness regarding the next few days. J leaves at 7 am in the morning to head to a Bull Riding Clinic, that is taught by 2 PBR Champions. Now they do start out on a mechanical bull, then up to a light weight steer, and finally a "real bull". I am not attending this trip, Hubby and J are going while DD and I have a girls weekend!! So I am really hoping and praying that this is not some big colossal mistake on my part....They will be recording the rides but if he doesn't get to bring that home then I will drive there on Sunday to get some pics and video..

Not much for DD today, she had a great day and was thrilled to hang with a couple of her friends tonight at the auction. I'm sure she will have much to say this weekend while the boys are out!!

Not so much

Ok so today did not go as planned...My SIL and I had hoped to get some work done on the website, and it just didn't happen. To many roadblocks, hoping to get more done this weekend.

So J went today with his FFA class for livestock judging. He took 2nd place in his Freshman class!! He was really stoked about that, the best thing is he can judge his own animals now and know if they are show worthy!!

DD had dance and gymnastics today...Very interesting time, I often wonder where some people place their thinking brains..So this lady is in there and is on her cell phone while her baby is crawling around with a stinky diaper!!! And I do mean STINKY!!! This woman left her child like that for 45 minutes while she was on the phone, OH and telling the person she is on the phone with "eww he has such a stinky diaper" several moms where gagging from the smell, one mom even got the lysol out of the bathroom and sprayed it all over LOL!! Well finally the lady leaves....or so we thought....no she just went and got a diaper since she was finally off the phone and changes her baby in the bathroom and then leaves the dirty diaper in the bathroom thrash. Ok let me give you a visual of this room, it is about 20 x 20 and the bathroom is along the back wall so it's not like she did us any favors here. So I think well if you want something done then do it yourself, so I got a trash bag from the instructor and changed out the trash myself while yet another mother now has a can of Febreeze and is spraying it all around the room LOL!! Well I am pretty sure she knew why we were doing this but never aknowledged anything. So that is the highlight of the parent room tonight!! DD did great in gymnastics, she spent her whole hour on back hand springs. Where I had to go in and record how to spot her as I didn't do it right the other night and I dropped her on her head....But in my defense she didn't throw her hands out..Dance went good too..

Exciting day today

OK so I am giving this blogging a try....I have decided to embark on a great adventure with my sister-in-law, we are planning a wonderful business!! We Have lots to do, but can't spill the beans just yet... Today was the last game of a brutal season in basketball. J has played for his coach for 2 years and has had a heck of a time with him, it's the oh so common problem of a coach with a big head and no brain..But we have ended the season with only a broken nose!! Next week we start Baseball, not sure how this will work considering J has never played LOL!! But he's willing to try.

DD is my girl, she is 10 years old and thinks she rules the world LOL!! 4th grade has been so great for us, so much less catfights but so much more attitude!! She is a complete social butterfly and every sentence ends with "yeah" which she picked up from her best friend, isn't it amazing how that happens..
