Yeah My Kid Rocks! What Can I Say?!

I just couldn't be prouder of my boy this week! It seems like he is doing something everyday that blows my mind and reminds me how lucky I am to have such a driven and smart young man!! Aside from just being the most awesome 15 yr old boy I've ever known he has had a great week!

A couple of weeks ago he was a bit in the dumps because his "Burb" flaked out... We bought the suburban last summer for J for his first real vehicle. I know a bit odd for a teenager but it's all about safety for me! When we bought the Burb we had to put in a new engine so the Hubby bought a used one from a guy and put it in. All was well until December when the tranny went out and we had to replace that! So the latest issue was the engine burned all of the oil and spun a bearing... UGHH!! He had checked the oil about a week prior and it was a tiny bit low but somehow it all just disappeared!

Beginning of the school year when the Burb had life..



So he was a real trooper about understanding it was back on the big yellow bus! Well the Hubby surprised him last Friday with a new (new to him of course) truck! J was so excited when he and I pulled up and he saw it sitting there. He started screaming "WHAT IS THAT"?! "WHAT IS THAT"?! I just smiled until I was parked and he flew out and was instantly in love again LOL!!

He's totally lovin this truck! Of course we will be putting his Ranch Hand bumper and his nice wheels and tires on this truck soon! You did know that's a must, right?!



Then Wednesday night was our high school's FFA Awards Banquet. During this banquet they award all of the individual achievement awards and install the new officers for the 2010-2011 FFA year. J had his interview last week. He has been really active in FFA and I think it has been so great for him. One of his greatest achievements this year is he qualified for State in Cattle Judging so we are very excited for that! He was also awarded the "Proficiency Award for Agricultural Communications", there were 5 boys in their chapter that went to this contest and overall they ended up placing 3rd out of 20 teams for their speeches!! His next award I think is pretty cool, he was awarded "Outstanding Sophomore Award" which is an award the VP of the school and FFA leaders choose for who they think per class who the most "outstanding" was! To top off his night he was installed as the 2010-2011 FFA Advisor!







OHHHH and did I mention this super busy teenage boy also achieved Honor Roll! He has always been a good student but his freshman year he had a tough time in his math class with no help from the teacher, he passed the class but not with the best grade and it dropped his GPA. It's taken him some time but he has gotten good grades his whole sophomore year and finally got them back into honor roll territory! I am definitely one proud Mama!!

Summer Rodeo Awards Banquet

This past Sunday we finally had the awards banquet for the summer rodeo circuit DD did called GHYR.. So we had a dinner and the kids got their prizes! It was done a bit different than I've ever seen before... Usually each child will get a prize that goes with the event that they participate in. Like last year Barrel racers got a saddle blanket. This year they gave everyone the exact same things even if they didn't do the same amount of events... So DD is now sporting a new buckle that she likes, nice warm coats with their names embroidered on them, a saddlebag, a bucket, and a t-shirt.. So they had a good time, and unfortunately DD was missing some friends due to illness's in their families so we got all of their prizes for them!!

She is ready to EAT!!!!!

The Honest Scrap Award!! For me?!?!

So I have recently met a wonderful, wonderful new friend named Lins and she's over at Goodbye, Martha. we have discovered that we live in the same state and share alot of the same interests!! So cool, I love reading her blog!! And I love the comments she leaves for me!! It is so strange to me how we meet our new friends here in bloggosphere and come to love each and every one!! So I thank you Lins for my award!! I love it and I can't wait to nominate my 10!!

OK here we go...
1. I am a severe night owl...I just can't sleep when "normal" people do LOL!! I have always been a night owl, where I would like to stay up late but it has gotten really bad in the last year. Last summer my DD started having night terrors where she would get up and do random things and then just scream and cry and say she was so scared!! example: One night I hear her in my office and I go in there to find her rummaging through my drawer and when I asked her what she was doing she said "looking for a knife to kill the bad things"...And I shook her and shook her until she finally woke up and she had no clue why she was downstairs and had no clue what had happened. Well it became so frequent I started staying up until it would happen so I could catch her before she did anything, finally she said video tape it so I can see. Cause like I said she was dead asleep through these episodes..So I did and she was pretty wowed when she watched it...Then it basically just stopped, only has them once in a blue moon now...But my sleep schedule is way off now!!! Ok that one was long...sorry...

2. I am super obsessed with my feet and socks and shoes...I refuse to wear socks that aren't pristinely clean, I never go barefoot not even at home. I always wear my socks and either have slippers or shoes on...Of course except when I sleep :)

3. I am really scared for my kids to grow up...I feel like I will be lost without them!!

4. I always wanted more than 2 kids but for some reason we can't get pregnant...Well we have lost 2 pregnancies, but we have 2 kids...Strange, I always tease my Hubby and say when our daughter is grown we will get pregnant...He doesn't always laugh back :)

5. I can't drink many of the things I love like coffee, red beers, pop...My limit's are water and tea!! But I'm content with that LOL!!

6. I never imagined at this point in my life I would be so happy!! It's very surreal for me...

7. I used to think 30 yrs old was ancient...I'm 30 now, and it's definitely not ancient LOL!!

8. Because I had J so young there is a possibility that I could be a grandma sometime in my 30's *eek*, of course I pound into J's head do everything else first!!

9. I can't stand liar's, I would rather be told the ugly truth than be lied too...

10. I secretly wish I had a good singing voice because I LOVE to sing LOL!!

I of course would first nominate Paint Girl but since she has received hers I'll just say that I would nominate her too!!! I have many reason for why I would nominate Paint Girl so I'll give you a few. Paint Girl has an awesome passion for animals and she takes excellent care of ALL of her animals, she goes above and beyond what alot of other people would do. Another reason is she always has great blogs!!! I really enjoy my time to sit and read her blogs. And just one more, (I have many more but I'll share 1 more) Paint Girl is just an all around fantastic person, I think you may need to read less than 3 lines of any of her blogs and you would figure that out :) Well I made the decision a couple of months ago to start my blog. I was really unsure of how to do this and so I just started popping around and before I knew it I had some great new friends!!! I love blogging and I love reading everyone else's. You know I have found it so rewarding just to hear everyone's stories, the good the bad and whatever else they may feel!! I personally have grown from some of the life stories that I read, there are some that bring me to tears and I don't know how they withstand the heartaches they are going through. And then there are those who always keep me on my toes and full of laughter!!! I just want to thank all of you who come and read my blog, I love it and I'm so glad I made the choice to start mine!!!

1. Train Wreck I would like to say one thing about TW, her blog was one of the first ones I started reading and from the moment I read what was going on in her life my heart was so saddened.. But then again so enlightened with the things she has done through these hard times. So TW I give this to you, I know you are probably to busy to pass this on but I wanted you to have this because I think your great!!!

2. Dusty Devoe Dusty I know you have already received this but I too will add to that nomination. Dusty has been so kind to me and I really love her blogs and her copper pony is just a beauty. One thing is always for sure when you read Dusty's blog and that is there will be something in there to remind you to be thankful for everything in our lives.. So thank you Dusty for being such a great person!!!

3. Pony Girl Pony Girl to me is just an amazing person!! She has the greatest pictures with all of her stories, and she can really make you laugh your butt off!! PG (like the rest of her family blogs that I read) loves her pony and she really goes the extra mile in taking care of her horse!! He is beautiful as is she!!!

4. JamieH Jamie was one of the first followers that I had and I want to say thank you to her for helping me learn this experience!! Jamie is fantastic, she is so truthful in everything she says. She isn't one to try and hide when things are rough and I think that takes a strong person to be able to tell their troubles. So Jamie with everything you have been going through I think you deserve this award!!! Oh and did I mention she does a "Tasty Tuesdays series" and she has some great food!!! Props to you Jamie!

5. Kristen Kristen is great!!! She has one of the neatest blogs and she designs some great jewelry!! I love to read her stories and look at her pictures, they are great!! Kristen I want to thank you for popping in to my blog when I know you are soooo busy, I love your blog and I'm so glad to have found you!!

6. A Cowboy's Wife I am fairly new to W.O.W.'s blog but I gotta tell you this gal has a heart of gold!!! She has written and done some great things for her fellow blogger's and I am so glad to have found her!!! She is one heck of a hard worker and her blog's are never boring!!! She is just an all around sweet heart!!! So thank you!!

7. Paige Now this is my newest blog find, "Malfunction Junction" and I tell you this woman is amazing!!! She got me hooked on her blog from about the second line in a post!! She has the funniest and almost unbelievable stories!! She never seizes to amaze me, she is awesome, funny, and kind!! I really love her blog!!

8. Broken Y Over there at Broken Y you will meet an awesome lady!! She is a believer in Christ and she blazes it with a passion!!! She has a great blog, and is oh so dedicated to her family!!! I am so glad to have found her also!!

9. Rebekah Rebekah is a young lady that is wise beyond her years!!! She too is a strong believer in Christ and I love her heartfelt blogs!! She is a great inspiration to all!!!

10. Heather Heather is a great lady I was introduced to through a blog swap and I love reading her blogs!! She has 2 GORGEOUS kids and I love to see pictures of them on her blog. And most of the time with those pictures comes a funny story too!! I am so glad to have been hooked up with her, she is great!!!
